Day 1: Pashupatinath Temple Aarti Ceremony and Sightseeing
4:00 PM – Hotel Pickup and Transfer to Pashupatinath Temple
The tour begins with a pickup from your hotel in Kathmandu. You’ll be driven to the Pashupatinath Temple complex in a private vehicle. On the way, your guide will provide insights into the significance of Pashupatinath Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
5:00 PM – Pashupatinath Temple Exploration
Upon arrival, you’ll have time to explore the temple grounds. The temple is located on the banks of the Bagmati River and is one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Hindus. Your guide will take you to various shrines and spots around the temple, explaining their historical and religious significance. Non-Hindus are not allowed to enter the main sanctum, but there are plenty of areas to explore and take in the spiritual atmosphere.
6:30 PM – Witness the Evening Aarti Ceremony
The highlight of the tour is the Aarti ceremony, which starts at sunset. You’ll gather on the steps along the Bagmati River to witness this beautiful ritual. The Aarti involves the lighting of oil lamps, chanting of hymns, and the sound of traditional instruments. As the priests perform the Aarti, the flickering lights of the lamps and the rising smoke create an enchanting and spiritual atmosphere.
8:00 PM – Drive Back to the Hotel
After the Aarti ceremony, you’ll be driven back to your hotel. On the way, you’ll have a chance to reflect on the spiritual experience and ask any remaining questions to your guide.
