Khopra Trek is one of the interesting off the beaten trek in Annapura Region of Nepal. The Khayer Tal is major attraction of this trekking. Khopra trek also called Khayar lake trek is newly opened trekking route in Annapurna region of Nepal and it is best suitable for those who wants to avoid the crowd and see something off the beaten. The area is very quite and peaceful. Most of the land is covered by dense forest and grass land. The trail is on the development but there is no problem finding a proper walking trail. You will meet very very few people or no people at all in the trek. The place called Baile also called bhaisi kharka at the altitude of 3430m has a tea house facility. The whole Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri mountain range can be seen from Bailey.

The Khopra danda is situated at the altitude of 3645m. The walk from Baile to Khopra is very intresting for viewing wild animals and Himalayan birds including mountain goats, herd of yaks, danfe, monal and others. The Khopra danda is very good mountainview point in Annapurna Region from where one can see Mt Tukuche, Thapa peak, top of Annapurna, close view of Annapurna south etc.

One can hike from Khopra Danda to Khayar Lake taking 11 hours including to and back but it is worth. It is journey into real wilderness. In the time of hindu festival Janai Purnima many people go on pilgrimage to khayar taal to worship and visit sacred shiva place of Annapurna region. While descending from Khopra to Narchyang lek you will see a tea house at Rele. Next day you can reach tatopani and there are many options ahead.

This trek con be done for (8-16 Day), but if include ABC trek. It would be 21 Day trek.

You can follow these directions & itineraries fiven below:

Option 1

Pokhara - Nayapul - Ghandruk - Tadapani - Khopra (including khayar lake 4565 m.) Swanta - Chitre - Ghorepani Poon Hill - Mohore Danda - Nangi - Langdi - Nayapul - Pokhara.

Option 2

Pokhara – Nayapul – Ghorepani Poon Hill - Chitre – Swanta – Khopra (including khayar lake 4565 m) - Tadapani – Ghandruk – Pokhara or link to ABC trek 4130m. - Chhomrong Hot Spring - Landruk - Dhampus - Phedi - Pokhara.

Option 3

Pokhara - Beni - Tatopani - Paudoor Village - Khopra (including khayar lake 4565 m.) - Swanta - Chitre - Ghorepani Poon hill - Ghanruk - Landruk - Dhampus Phedi - Pokhara.

Option 4

Pokhara – Nayapul – Ghorepani poon hill – Chitre – Swanta - Khopra (including Khayar lake 4565 m.) – Narchyang Upper – Narchyang lower – Tatopani – Beni – Pokhara or Tatopani – Chitre – Nangi – Langdi – Nayapul - Pokhara.

Option 5

Pokhara – Tatopani – lower narchyang – upper narchyang – khopra (including khayar lake 4565 m.) – chitre – ghorepani poonhill – nayapul – pokhara.

Option 6

Pokhara – nayapul – langdi – nangi – chitre – swanta – khopra (including khayar lake 4565 m.) – tadapani ghandruk – pokhara or link to annapurna sanctuary – pokhara.
